Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home using a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house money isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding check here and want not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan read more to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
